THE HOWL
A woman walking with her dog in the forest discovers the burnt body of a male. There's a note next to the body and it says: "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a fang" and it is signed by "The Howl". The note leads the authorities and the media to assume it's a possible payback crime between criminal groups. A few days before the burnt body is found in the forest, Benjamin wakes up in a cage, he's tied up with chains and in the basement of an abandoned house. He's been beaten and has visible signs of torture; he's facing his last moments of life under the custody of mysterious figure who hides his identity behind a pug mask. Without saying a single word, his captor subjects him to a ritual of violence and humiliation, and the reason of it remains unknown. As Benjamin starts to understand the origin of his torture, the horror goes beyond physical brutality to bring the audience face to face with an uncomfortable reflection about the consequences of our deeds and the value that society gives to life. The Howl is a thriller of psychological horror that uses the tension and suspense to explore the limits between justice, revenge and empathy.
