The demon in my head

In a present teetering on the brink of environmental collapse—amidst an armed conflict that has defined the memory of Colombians for as long as we can recall, and with the "red button" poised to be pressed by those who covet everything—empathy has become a mere shell, a hollow husk devoid of soul or memory; justice, ethics, compassion, and rights have ceased to exist. The demons that inhabit the mind and torment the possessed become unbearable, transforming us into a kind of Legion—we *are* Legion—as hopelessness, anxiety, pain, sadness, rage, depression, anguish, and weariness take up residence within us.
