The Curse of the Drowned

Two friends, Borja and Fernando, allied with Vanessa, conspire to deceive Luciana and recover a document that was signed by Borja. This document, which is in Luciana's possession, causes Borja to lose everything he has. Filmed at Janga Beach in the city of Paulista, Pernambuco – Brazil, the story follows the schemes carried out by the trio, who accidentally come across a curse haunting the place. This fictional story explores the theme of the region's exuberant nature, while showing how neglect, particularly regarding environmental issues and the disregard for the traditional artisanal fishing practiced there—turns into a true scourge. The Drowned Man's Curse serves as a metaphor to illustrate the horror of it all.
